The Forging

An acolytes first lesson.

Gather round young acolytes and I will tell you the tale of the beginning.

In a time before time began, before spirits, before animals, before plants. A time before angels, Rün’s, and legends. A time before all other life existed, the four Argent Gods descended from a distant realm upon the chaos that was Elrün. These four Argent Gods were Eoün, the Green Father; Tinarae, the Radiant Mother; Vaalane, the Eternal Wind; and Branmir, the Soul Forger.

The Argent Gods each infused the land of Elrün with their own essence. Branmir, with his mighty, fiery hammer, forged the red earth and created the land. Thus, he created the very ground from which all life in Elrün would spring forth. He poured his wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world, thus establishing order in a formerly chaotic world. Tinarae, with her radiant presence gave light to the world. She provided a way for all living things, that were to come, to find their home and not be lost to darkness. Vaalane, brought her violent winds to the land. She caused life giving rain to fall, great rivers and small streams to flow, and formed the seas and oceans upon the ordered realm. Eoün, with his rich soul, produced all life forms of varying kinds. As the father of all life in the realm, he created the beings that would walk the earth, fly in the sky, swim in the waters, and cast deep roots into the pure earth. All these forms of life would uphold the law established by Branmir and live and enjoy the vast world created for them.

The four Argent Gods, their labors completed, departed for the heavens, a realm of midday golden skies and a place where the spirits can roam free. They left the new inhabitants with wisdom and knowledge of their creation of the realm of Elrün. They gave them a symbol of their power, a great artifact that became known as the Eorün.

Upon their departure they charged mighty and just Angels to guide the inhabitants in peace, and protect them from dark forces that would surely come to destroy what had been created. These Angels became known as the great protectors of the Angeric Synod. To this day, should the darkness ever arise, know that our divine protectors will always come and give us aid.
