Dragonborn traits

Your draconic heritage manifests in a variety of traits you share with other dragonborn.

Ability Score Increase
Your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age
Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. Since dragons are long lived it is believed that they might live nearly 300 years old. As of yet, no dragonborn has died of old age since the race’s initial creation, their upper age limits remain subject to speculation and debate.

Alignment
Dragonborn tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil. Most dragonborn are good, but those who err on the side of evil can be terrible villains.

Size
Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Dragon’s Bite
Your fanged maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Draconic Ancestry
You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table.

Breath Weapon
You can use your bonus action to exhale destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. You can use your breath weapon a number of times equal to your 1+ Charisma modifier. You regain all expended uses when you complete a long rest.

Damage Resistance
You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.

Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Ironscale

Extra tough and durable. Fight with increased ferocity.

Ability Score Increase
Your Strength score increases by 2.

Hardened Scales
You gain a +1 bonus to your Armor Class while not wearing heavy armor.

Draconic Savagery
When your current hit points are below half your hit point maximum (rounded down), your melee attacks that use strength may apply the Strength modifier to your damage rolls twice on a hit.

Dreadscale

Dreadful, fearful, roaring with powa! With a little battlefield control. Know how to cause fear in their enemies. Usually have tails.

Ability Score Increase
Your Constitution score increases by 2.

Dread Roar
Instead of exhaling destructive energy, you can expend a use of your Breath Weapon trait to roar, forcing each creature of your choice within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). A target automatically succeeds on the save if it can’t hear or see you. On a failed save, a target becomes frightened of you for 1 minute. If the frightened target takes any damage, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Cunning Skulker
You have a swimming speed of 30 feet, and you can breathe air and water. You also have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks when in a coast or swamp terrain.
