The Kitsune
Kitsune, or foxfolk, are vulpine shapeshifters known for their love of both trickery and art. Despite an irrepressible penchant for deception, kitsune prize loyalty and make true allies and companions. They delight in the arts, particularly riddles and storytelling. Most Kitsune are nomads, traveling in caravans they take their wisdom from both the living and the past, trading and telling stories as they go along.
Natural Shapeshifters
Kitsune possess two forms: that of an attractive human and their true form of an anthropomorphic fox. In their natural form, they are a bit shorter and slighter of stature than an average human. Their fur comes in shades of brown and red, though some with grey or white coats are known to exist as well and they have vibrant colored eyes.
Most kitsune wear sandals and baggier clothes while they’re in human form so as to ease the transition to their natural form. They also possess fangs that can be deadly and they use them as a last resort in close quarters combat.
Each kitsune has a single human form they can shapeshift into. Oftentimes this is an attractive male or female, but some kitsune choose to take a more wretched form. When drunk or otherwise distracted, kitsune have been known to on occasion have problems keeping their true form concealed.
